Canada weekend

This weekend has been a busy one. Jose, Xiomie, lulu and I drove to Winnepeg. We got to spend time with our family which we hadn't seen in a long time. We also we're able to meet some of Kim's family and Kim came back with us.
Xiomi left yesterday afternoon, we walked around the Mall of America for several hours, then dropped Xiomi off at the airport. We've been able to hang out with Kim and Jose and visit a little longer, it's been fun. they leave tonight though to Phoenix. Today Jose, Kim and I walked around downtown and took some pictures of downtown and the missisippi. we've otherwise been lazy laying; we watched over the hedge; it's a pretty funny movie.

Baby James's newest picture

"Aaron's first blog entry-stardate 5/17/06
So last saturday night Carolina and I were play around with the ultrasound machine at work and took a couple of our own photo's of the "little one". We were laughing because the little one was moving all around and flexing it's fingers and toes and it had a bad case of the hiccups. It is really amazing to watch God knit someone together in the womb. We are so blessed to be able to watch such a miracle.

new picture of the baby

We had our first appointment here in St. Paul. Everything looks good. The baby was moving around like crazy, kicking, turning over, it was exciting. We have our next ultrasound is on June 20th, we'll be able to see if it's a he or she?? I go back to the doctors for a regular check up in 4 weeks. Anyways, no belly yet, but i'm sure in 4 weeks i'll have something to show. We'll post a picture as soon as something comes up. :-)

Relaxing at the park

We went for a nice walk down the park. The Mississippi river is next to it, it's a nice area, lulu really liked it. there weren't any harrasing squirrels to bother her and she had room to roam (that is as far as the leash lets her). but it was a nice time, we ate at the park, had a little picnic oooh. relaxing times. :-)

fishing in Bald Eagle lake

Here's Aaron with the catch of the day! a northern pike! it was very exciting to catch but we of course released it. I caught fish too, only their smaller and I let a bunch off the hook, really; it takes me a while to warm up and actually hook one instead of just feeding it my fishy. anyways, good times. :-)

more lake and fishing

Fishing at White Bear Lake

Today Aaron and I decided to try out the water for the first time, since it was a nice day (70s) temp. We tried our luck with fishing and ended up catching one fish (caught by Aaron), and then several hits and misses. so, it was fun, lulu was ready to jump in the water, except the water is very cold still. It started getting pretty windy by the end of our fishing adventure, so we decided to call it a day. The lake is a quick drive, about 20 minutes, and there's another lake further up that we'll check out next week. we're off a whole week, so we're planning on going camping and fishing, maybe I'll check out the outlet mall and so forth. anyways, one more day of work before our week off! It's exciting!

Twin cities

So, we've made it to Minnesota safe. We got here friday around noon, it's been raining since friday, (light drizzle rain) and today has been the first day that the rain actually stopped for a good while; We still haven't seen the sun, but they're promising sun tomorrow with temperatures up to 73! yeah, uuhh. Anyways, we're driving with our mapquest directions to our apartment and we keep getting closer to downtown. Let me remind you guys, we're pulling a 16ft boat behing our trooper, we have a dog and luggage inside the car. Well, go figure we're right in the middle of downtown St. Paul, We were lucky to find 2 parking meters open with no other cars on that side of the street and we parked the big monster in place. It felt a little out of place in downtown, but no where else of course because fishing is BIG here. so, we found a storage area about 5 minutes away where we're keeping the boat.
so, saturday we got up and we're a block from the "market" on the weekends, they sell fresh eggs, meats, honey, homemade soaps, and lots of plants/flowers/herbs. it was fun to walk around in until I almost froze to death!!! it was 49 degrees, yikes! I've been wearing an average of 3 shirts plus a jacket. oh, yeah, also lulu gets a patch of grass they call "the park", lots of squirrels that lulu wants to eat, and lots of other people with dogs. anyways, I'll write later on the week on our first day of work, orientation, yuk! just to vent a little we have to pay anywhere from $2.75 to 3.75 to park!! then go and work your butt off!! and take a stupid shuttle! anyways, we'll see what tomorrow brings, we'll be on the floor in the ER. It'll be better i'm sure. :-) That's it for now folks.
