Baby Update

Well we are now 20 weeks pregnant. That is half-way there!! We still don't know if we are having a boy or a girl. We tried to look with one of the doc's at work but junior was being to shy. Atleast we will have a modest child. We only have 5 weeks of work left in MN and then we are headed back to ABQ. Here are some pictures.

Lake Superior

Jay Cooke State Park

Camping again

So, this week we went camping again. when we first got there it was raining and it had been raining for most of the ride up. So, we decided to rent a cabin instead, the bad thing was that lulu couldn't come inside, not even in the covered porch. so, handy Aaron made a nice little shelter for lulu. But of course a couple of hours later it completely cleared up, perfect blue sky, :-) so, we went kayaking. it was fun, a little difficult because it was a double kayak, and since Aaron and I had never kayaked, it was interesting. we never fell, we would just go to one side or the other, but not straight. :-) but we made it ok. After that we went up north to another state park, stayed the night. Lulu decided to break her collar to go after whatever she saw. She did manage to scare a BIG raccon up a tree, she also caught a frog in her mouth, I thought it was going to poison her but, she made it :-) The next morning we went up to Duluth, which is on Lake Superior, it was beautiful, we drove around for a little while then we started heading back home. Oh, on the way home we stopped at another state park, but just for a picnic. All and all we had a good time.

Sunday & Monday

Yesterday, we had a relaxed, fun father's day. sure we spent about 2 hours in the process of looking for a park with a simple grill, and ended up at wallmart buying the grill! we were determined. It was about 9pm when we finally finished eating. Now we're prepared to grill anywhere. :-)
today we rented a canoe for half a day. The lake wasn't very big or nice, a lot of nasty overgrown vegetation. It was nice to be outside, the weather was nice; high of about 78. so not bad. :-)

Camping in MN

This past week we went camping for 2 days to one of the state parks about 3 hours from St. Paul. We had a great time! perfect weather the entire time. We rented a row boat the 2nd day and went around fishing, ok more like Aaron fished and I rowed the boat. :-) I loved it! the park was almost completely empty, there were 2 other campers there and one of them was a family in a cabin. the campsites are called cart-in campsites because you park your car then you take a cart they give you and put all your stuff in it and the campsites are a couple hundred feet in the woods. so it felt more real. :-) we/I had to take small hikes just to go to the nice bathrooms with nice clean showers that only had hot water.not bad ha. well, we work all next week, so the following week we plan on going camping maybe some canoeing/whitewater rafting. it should be fun.

Nice day at the lake

Yesterday we went to the lake again; and for the first time it wasn't cold and windy. It was so nice! 80s, we caught a bunch of bass! it's a lot of fun to fish when you're catching them. We learned from last time not to keep any fish, it was quite traumatizing for Aaron to do; so we catch and release. This time, I caught the biggest fish of the day, it doesn't look that big, but it was when you're trying to hold it! lulu is quite good at knowing and being ready when we catch fish, she sniffs and licks them. She also learned that we have a bucket of minnows, and that Aaron leaves a couple of fish in the catching net (in the bucket) so, lulu takes the net out then decides to play with the fishes, she still hasn't eaten them, she just kills them when she tries to make them move with her paw! that is, if Aaron doesn't get the minnows in time. :) In the end, we all had a good time.
